Background

The school is staffed by the Sisters of Charity of Convent Station, New Jersey and lay faculty members. The school is a community composed of students, their parents, the administration, the faculty and staff, the alumnae and their parents. The school represents a multi-ethnic, religious and socioeconomic community. The modern two-level building is located on a beautifully landscaped campus of 27 acres (110,000 m2). It contains three science laboratories, two main computer rooms which are fully equipped, one is completely new and several (COW) computer carts with wireless computers are available for classroom use. The entire building has wireless access as well as wired connection. The Library/Media Center and classrooms have internet accessibility. The school also has SmartBoards and laser printers. Each faculty member has a laptop computer with a multimedia projector in the classroom for easy access to the most current technology.[4]

A spacious Art Studio and a Foods and Clothing Laboratory provide pleasant areas for instruction in Fine and Related Arts for all students. A Chapel, Cafeteria and a large Gymnasium and Fitness Center complete the facilities. The grounds are equipped with three tennis courts, a softball field and soccer field.[4]

Academics

Mother Seton Regional High School offers a four-year college preparatory curriculum. 100% of Mother Seton graduates go on to higher education. In addition, the academic program at Mother Seton provides emphasis on math and science, areas where women have traditionally been under-represented. In several national studies, it has been found that graduates of girls' schools are four times more likely to pursue careers in math, science and engineering than are female graduates of co-educational schools. Programs like the one at Mother Seton certainly contribute to that statistic. The school also offers honors programs
